Gord's Guide To Cannabis Edible Etiquette

Cannabis Edibles Etiquette

If you are new to cannabis edibles, or not so new, there are a few good rules to follow to make sure everyone has a good time.

1. Start low and go slow.
THC is processed through the liver when you eat edibles and becomes much stronger than when smoked. It can also take a couple hours for you to start to feel the effects, which can lead people to eat more because they think the edibles aren't working...when they actually are!
Even if you're experienced with edibles, you may want to exercise caution when using a new brand or someone's homemade treats until you are sure of the effects and potency.

2. Label homemade edibles.
If you are making your own edibles, make sure to label them so it is obvious that they contain cannabis. Labeling them with the dosage can also be helpful in case you forget what you made.

3. Keep away from pets and kids.
While CBD and some THC can be helpful for medical issues for pets and children, we still don't want them getting into your stash!! Keep tasty treats far away and above any prying hands or paws.

4. No pressure.
If people are not comfortable consuming edibles...that's ok. More edibles for you!
Do not pressure anyone to consume edibles if they are uncomfortable and NEVER give edibles to someone unsuspecting as a prank!! This can cause bad trips and bad expectations of cannabis experiences. Not cool man, not cool.

5. Too much?
Remain calm, you won't die, it will end eventually you are NOT going to be high forever!

6. Surviving too much
Drink water, coffee, have a snack, take a nap. CBD can counter the psychoactive effects of THC, as can smelling black pepper.

We hope these tips are helpful for you, especially if you've never consumed cannabis edibles before.
Enjoy your edible experience and Happy Smokin'N'Tokin!
